Do you have a cat or kitten that hasn’t been spayed or neutered? Does your neighbour have one, or two, or three, or more? Has a stray cat shown up in your neighbourhood?
You can help keep the island cat population in check by making sure kittens are fixed before they reproduce—ideally by the time they’re five months old.
Need help getting a pet to the vet? Contact Quadra Cat Rescue. We have a low-cost spay neuter program for people who need assistance. Just complete our spay-neuter request form.
Please don’t delay. One unfixed pair of cats and their offspring can produce 500 kittens in three years. Arranging to get cats fixed before it’s too late has a huge impact on the workload for volunteers, who’ve been helping islanders and their cats since March 2009.
