The first print run of A life amongst cats is almost sold out, but more copies are in the works in time for Mother’s Day.
“If you’re looking for a gift—for a special occasion, or just because—consider this gem of a book,” says Marnie Griffiths, who volunteered to coordinate production of this new volume of poetry and illustrations as a Quadra Cat Rescue fundraiser.
The crowd at the Quadra Library book launch of A life amongst cats shared several laughs and even teared up during readings of the more tender verses.
“The combined creativity of Chris Thompson’s poems and Sophie Whittingham’s illustrations will pull people into this book over and over again,” Griffiths says. “Share the love when you give a copy to someone special.”
Pick up A life amongst cats at Inspirations in Quathiaski Cove. Copies are available by donation ($15 recommended minimum). All proceeds support Quadra Cat Rescue’s efforts to reduce the number of stray and homeless cats on our island.
