With spring in full bloom, Quadra Cat Rescue volunteers are braced for kitten season.
“After 15 years helping people get their pets fixed, we still see an influx of kittens each year. And there are always more new arrivals than we can adopt out on Quadra,” says volunteer Janet Massey. “Please help us keep this year’s kitten season down to a dull roar by signing up to get any unfixed pets spayed or neutered as soon as possible.”
Getting cats fixed before they reproduce is key. The optimal age to spay or neuter is before kittens are five months old. For help fixing your cat or kitten, please fill out the form here.

“Over the years, Quadra Cat Rescue has helped 1,500 cats and kitten. Our low-cost spay-neuter program has prevented hundreds of litters of kittens, far more than available island homes” adds volunteer Val van Veen. “If it weren’t for this hard work, we’d be overwhelmed by stray cats and kittens.”
